Happy Father's Day

We said our "Good Byes" to family at Elevation Hotel in Crested Butte

Mom hugging the main man, Josh Meyer.

Ben, John, Mom, Sue about to hug Josh.
Then it was off to Arches National Park.
The ride took about 5 hours.
Our first stop in the park was to check out the...

You can check out the display and see the actual drawings on the wall in front of  Ben.
We were on our way to the Delicate Arch. Also known as one of 5 icons of the Park.

Here's Ben. In the distance at about 10 o'clock using Ben as the clock is where we've come from.
You can barely make out the parking lot.

This is the same spot I took the previous picture but looking the other way.

After about 45 minutes we were getting pretty exhausted and we saw this arch.
Mom said, "Is this it?"

Actually she said it in a more colorful way which brought a laugh from the crowd.

Now that's better. Here it is.
The Delicate Arch.

Mom met some locals who graciously accepted her offer to take our picture in front of this monumental icon.

I really like this shot of Ben looking down at me as I look up at the arch.

Panoramic view.
I wanted to take this picture to see if I could see the parking lot from whence we came.

Returning back to base camp (the parking lot).

This is the same large mass of stone as we return back to the parking lot.
Parking Lot at about 11 using Jan as our clock.

So this is the parking lot I tried to capture from above.
I don't think I can figure out where the Delicate Arch is in this picture.
But I know it's up there somewhere, because we were there :)

We pulled off the side of the road and hiked this .2 mile journey to the Skyline Arch.

Same skyline arch with a view from the base.

This is called the Fiery Furnace.
Note the white lines through the red rock.

Another view of the display and the white threads threw the red rock.

I took this panoramic shot of the Double Arch located in the Windows Section of the Park.
Here's where we collected Mabel's rock.
I took it from the opening to the left of the double arch.

I was impressed with how massive these caverns looked that I had to capture it in this picture.

This picture is called the pothole arch.
It looks a little like a frog with the arch acting as the frog's mouth.
Do you see it?

Our last stop before exiting the Park was the Balanced Rock.
Really quite amazing that rock doesn't just fall in a big wind.

Walking around the Balance Rock.
Mom collected the last three red rocks from this location.
