Day 7

Tuesday, June 20, 2017

Our last day for hiking. 😢

Our first stop was wall art.

Check out this Indian Art on the wall...

Panoramic view of the Indian Wall Art.

Here's a closeup of part of the wall.

 This is another section.

Before leaving the area, Ben and I stopped by the Colorado River to get up close and personal.

Now we're back to Arches National Park.
This is a far shot of the Fiery Furnace.

Then we scurried up the path to see the Landscape Arch which is part of the Devil's Garden section.

I really liked how these plants looked together.
Especially the leaves that look like oak leaves.

These next few pictures are in succession as we head to the Double "O" Arch.

See why they call it the Double "O" Arch?

Ben took this photo of Mom and me inside the lower "O".

Where's Ben?

 Oh, there he is.
This is our traditional looking up from the bottom of the arch at Ben.

We had a visitor for lunch.
Nope! He got nothin'.

We're heading down the "fin" and paused for this picture.
No significance to the other people in the picture.

We're walking on top of one of the "fins".
I'll show you another shot of those later...

This is kind of a joke.
It's a little arch only a few inches tall.

Walking arm and arm on top of the fin.

 Making progress.

Here's a good shot of what a "fin" looks like.
It's a layer of rock protruding thru the ground like a fish fin.

I thought I'd get a shot of our trusted red Camry that has been a real trouper.

One last shot of the Fiery Furnace.
Not sure why  I was so enamored by it.

And one more look at Balanced Rock.

I took this shot because I was taken by the vertical black stripes on the wall.

Heading north on 191 and noticed the green layer of rock(s).

Another view of the green layer.

On our way to I-70 and to our hotel in Frisco.
Should take about 4-5 hours.

Arrived at Frisco and after showers, went downtown for supper.

Here are some downtown shots...
